Don't let us choose your birthdate...

Hi sweetie,

We had another doctor's appointment yesterday.  Yesterday was your due date, but you show no signs of wanting to leave.

We ended up setting an appointment for next week to have labor induced.  The date would be July 16th.

So, if you don't like that date as your potential birthday, you should try to come earlier.

I would definitely appreciate it!!  So would your daddy!

I love you!

Another Tuesday, another rainy day.....

Just waiting for my little sunshine to get here!

This last Sunday, Uncle Kelly was here and helped your Mommy and Daddy move some things out into storage so you have a big-girl room now.  Grampa and I furnished the van to move the boxes and was able to do it in one trip.  While everyone was at the storage unit, I moved and rearranged things so Mommy had room for your crib, stroller and now you have a closet for all your cool duds.  Daddy moved the crib in your room, and set it up while Mommy excitedly put away your clothes and other necessary items for your arrival.

You have a great window in your room and can look outside to see a big open field.  I'm sure this summer people will be playing soccer, or baseball and we can take a walk to watch them have fun.

Well Gramma's got to get back to work, just wanted to take a break and say "hi" to my Ali-bear Sunshine girl!  Love you!!

Tuesday Morning & thinking of you

Today is a beautiful sunny day and I just looked out my office window and saw a mommy with a stroller and 2 puppies taking a walk and thought "I can hardly wait to take Alix for a sunshine walk."  It's still chilly outside, but when you arrive it will be the middle of summer and warm enough to wear your new outfits Gramma got for you - you're gonna be the coolest baby on the block!

I hear you're practicing the "Twist" inside Mommy's tummy!!  You go, baby girl!  Exercise all you can so when you're crawling, you have strong legs and arms.  I know your Mommy's taking the best care of herself for you - I'm so very proud of her.  Just remember Daddy wants to feel you move too, so when you begin, take your time so Mommy can tell him to feel her tummy.

Well, I'd better get back to work.  I love you whole bunches, Ali Bear.  Can hardly wait to cuddle!  Gramma.

You turned over...

I woke up this morning to my entire belly moving.  I could even feel it on the outside.  I tried to get Daddy to feel it, but it was too late... you were done turning over.  It was the neatest thing!

You're wide awake this morning (must be the orange juice and banana I just fed you) and you're kicking again.  Just warning you: keep this up and I'll expect you to become a professional soccer player.

Less than 100 days until I meet you (if you're not late).... 2/3rds of the way done making you.... yay!!!

I love you,
Mommy

From Mommy

Hi sweetie... it's your mom here.  Right now, you're in my belly, hiding from the big world out there.  You're only about 25 weeks along, but you're a kicker and I feel you move.  I already know you and I are going to get into some tickle fights 'cause I feel you tickling my insides.  Gross, yes, but endearing.

I can't wait to meet you.

A future Gramma's dream come true

Well, little Ali-Bear, have made one of my most precious dreams come true.  You're about to be born!!  Your mom was such a delight as a baby, I'm sure you will be too.  She's given me the honor of being your playmate while she's at work.  Your Dad said it was ok, too, so I'm excitedly waiting for your arrival.  I've already got books for us to read, an old cradle for you to sleep in beside me while I sew, and my very own g-stick for those all important poopy diapers that need to be disposed of.  And, although I have to wait another 3 1/2 months for you to arrive, I'm anticipating lots of snuggles, giggles and secrets to share.  Take your time preparing to make your debut, but hurry up!!  Grammas can't wait forever, you know! :-)

And geeks begat geeks...

A proud, noble heritage of geeks.
